1. Russia the largest country in the world. Its territory extends to the Pacific Ocean in the east, extends to the Arctic Ocean in the north, and extends to the Caucasus Mountains in the south. The territory behind the Urals is Siberia. The territory near the Pacific Ocean is the Far East. It takes more than 10 hours by plane to get from the east to the west of the country.

2. Our country is rich in seas and lakes, in rivers and forests. Lake Baikal in Siberia is famous for its deepness. It is the deepest lake in the world with very clear fresh water. Some of the rivers in Russia are very long and powerful.

3. The climate in our country is different in different places. The north is famous for low temperatures, cold winter, ice and snow. In the south the weather is warm in winter and hot in summer.

4. There are a lot of important cities on the territory of Russia. Tourists from abroad like to visit Moscow, the capital of the country. Many visitors come to St Petersburg. There are two thousands of cities and towns in Russia. All the cities are interesting in their own way.
